D3 student here looking to get a new M2 MacBook Air that will last me into residency and beyond. Just wondering how often you actually use your laptop for work/studies, is it worth it?

Also debating on 256gb storage vs 512gb.. not sure how much I’d need to store?

D3 and D4 I think I barely cracked open a PowerPoint to study.
In residency, my ipad is way more useful for articles and digital textbooks. However we still need a laptop to access axium from home.

Thanks! I have an iPad Pro and I love it to annotate articles and such. I wonder how often a laptop is needed beyond residency/ in practice.

I use my laptop quite a lot for the case presentations / lit reviews. I tried it on my tab s8 with the kb ... too flimsy for my fingers. But i do game occasionally so maybe different use cases. Check in with the current residents what their usage requirements are?

iPadOS is far too limited to use as a full time computer. Definitely recommend getting a proper laptop to use. I suggest the 512 GB SSD because the 256 GB one has very low read speeds compared to the 512 GB. If you’re going for maximum longevity, I suggest the 16 GB of RAM too but that is less essential for a laptop used by a dental student/dentist

M2 MBA is the way to go, 8GB is sufficient for almost all work unless you plan on gaming heavily for which a MBA is not built for.
