I'm currently a Biology major with a premed track. I have a choice between graduating with bio major and chem minor or graduating straight biochemistry. I was torn between the two choices, I don't know hat will be better for applying. I haven't taken my Mcats but I'm a junior and my science GPA is 3.96 with a 3.89 cumulative. I've talked to many people about graduating biochemistry but I cannot make up my mind. If I stick with bio I can graduate a semester earlier than I was supposed to.

Major doesn't matter, neither one will look "better" than the other. Pick the one that interests you the most or works best with your schedule. If you want to graduate a semester early in order to save money/work/relax before matriculating, then go that route. If you don't mind doing an 8th semester and you like biochem more, go with that.

1) MCAT, not MCATs

2) Your major won't affect your chances.

I don't think it will make much difference. Both are common majors for pre-meds. Just do what you enjoy. Your MCAT score and grades will have more weight than what your particular major was.

Welcome!

It truly does not matter what your major is... it just matters how you perform in the science classes you do take. I would choose whichever subject you enjoy more and is easier on your GPA. Basically, exactly what Ismet said.

GL!
