I just received a C in physics 2 and was wondering if it would be a good idea to re-take the class. I have A's in chem 1 and 2, B's in bio 1 and 2, and B/B+ in ochem 1/2 and a B in physics 1. I'm really worried about the C in physics 2 and feel like it would greatly ruin my chances of getting into dental school. Or am I stressed for nothing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Of all the classes you listed, Physics will be looked at the least by dental schools. Don't worry about it unless you have extra time to take it again.

I had a couple C's in the Chemistry classes and still got in...

I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

Good luck!👍

I am on almost the same position. I have C's in ochem 1/2 ...so I was thinking if i shld re-take one of them ... should i retake it ? i m confused.

ps: was reading through the thread..thought shld comment on it.

it really depends on your current gpa. if it's solid i wouldn't bother. additionally, i would focus on taking more higher level biology courses and settling for no less than A's..no more C's!!

I have a C- in Physics, a C in OChem and a C in Differential Equations. I still got into several schools. Some of the schools told me that I have to retake Physics, other schools overlooked it. 🙂

..my gpa right now is 3.3 .. I dont think its solid...
so shloud i retake it ?

I think AADSAS counts the retakes as well in the gpa unlike the universities(bc uni. only counts the 'new " grade).

Does anyone know how they calculate it? Like for example. I have C first time and second time I retake I get A ..Do they take avg. of that?

Please help
thanks in advance.

Physics 2 has nothing whatsoever to do with medicine or dentistry, I really don't understand why it's required, except as a weed-out I guess. I just finished it, miserable class.

I believe, they just include BOTH grades into the calculation.
Like at my school, if you retake a course and you pass the first time, it doesn't factor into your cumulative GPA. But I believe the application includes both grades.

I would be freaking the hell out if I were you.

Seriously.
