Hello, i would just like some advice on what to do about my arm... And i figured that since you are all med students... you should be pretty bright and able to give me some good advice 🙂 . 2 weeks ago today i fell while snowboarding. I am an average 15-year old adolescent that is in good health besides asthma and allergies. I broke my arm in 3 places. The orthopaedic surgeon classified it as a Salter-Harris type II fracture. On the night of the accident, the emergency room doctor attempted a closed reduction of my left arm to try and place it back where it should be. It wasn't completely in place, but he just wanted to get it remotely in place so that i could wait until the morning to see an orhtopaedist. Two days later i was put to sleep and another closed reduction was done, as well as a casting. So now, two weeks later, i had a follow-up exam. The X-rays showed that the radius moved. The orthopaedist suggested leaving it because it probably won't be a big deal in the long-run. However, the report came back today (two days later) and radiology said that my bone is 50% out of place. I was told that 30% is acceptable, but now i'm not sure if i should seek a second opinion, or what i should do. I am mostly worried about a loss of mobility in my left hand and most of all if my bone will be able to grow, because allthough i am nearly done growing, the break was right through my growth plate. Please just leave a post if you have any advice as to what you would do. -Thanks
