Advice on Step 2 ck scheduling

Just wanted to ask if anyone had any advice on taking Step 2 Ck in my situation. My step I score is 216/91. I know that the family med average step I score is around 210. I wanted to ask if I should take Step 2 ck early to help me match in the place I want to be at. The main thing I'm worried about is that if I decide to take it early (i.e. at the end of August), it might delay my LORs (I know I need at least 3). I start my sub-is in mid july:

3 weeks of subi (July-Aug)
3 off of step 2 ck (Aug to end of Aug)
3 weeks of subi (Sept - End of Sept)
3 weeks of subi (Oct-Nov)
then random stuff

If I don't take my Step 2ck, I can push my sub-is earlier.

I really want to get a spot somewhere in SoCal. Preferably either Kaiser Fontana or Riverside or somewhere in LA.
