Hey everyone,

So two different things I wanted to talk about:

1) I have a class Thai semester where the professor doesn't post anything online and talks really fast, and I was told by many that I should type my notes and or record lectures. I'm an upcoming junior and I've never used My laptop for taking notes. Is it very different to get used to? What programs are good to use to take notes on laptop? Just feels like it's gonna take some getting used to since I've always handwritten notes.

2) I'm used to having physical versions of my textbooks but this year a couple of my have me eBooks for like two of my classes (said the textbook wasn't worth the money nor the info and I was better off using eBook for getting extra detail to add to lecture material ). How is it using or reading your books from the computer? Ive never really done this so I don't know how effective it could be. Some of my mcat material that I've been given are eBooks too, and I know that the mcat is a computer test, so would it be beneficial to start getting used to reading on the computer (including using mcat books)?

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance!

1) I personally love taking hand written notes. However, last semester I made my transition to OneNote (Microsoft Office's Note Taking Program). One of the best things about taking notes on your computer is that you always have all of your material a click away so if you ever want to study during downtime, you can just open it up. Most of these programs also have a built in recording app that allows you to record the lecture and attach it to the file.
I WOULD NOT make the transition immediately if you cannot type fast.

2) Some people like them, some dont. If you find that you are not remembering the information from these eBooks, you can always highlight them in an application or just take notes alongside. See what works for you.

Long as you have a good program to highlight and edit your ebooks it really isn't any difference! At first you will hate it but after a while you won't even notice the difference. I've been using ebooks for years.

What's a good program where you can edit PDFs and eBooks, and maybe one that's compatible with typing notes? Like an all in one if possible? And I have a MacBook Pro btw.
