Good morning everyone! I need some guidance. I am a re-applicant and was offered a potential seat at a DO school for 2024. I am extremely extremely grateful for the opportunity, but am having a hard time deciding what to do. I know I want to match into potentially a surgical speciality. I do not care what hospital, but am highly pursuing surgery. I also have already submitted all my secondarys for the 2025 cycle. That is around 30 MD/DO schools. I do feel my application is a lot stronger this cycle and do feel like I have a good shot at both MD/DO, but am unsure what to do in this situation. If you were in my shoes: do you interview and see if you get offered the spot at the DO school? Do you not interview and have them still consider you for the 2025 cycle? I need some advice.

PS- I was waitlisted at a TMDSAS MD school last cycle

I am just extremely torn if I take a shot for MD or play it safer if offered a spot.
...
I can't believe I have to write this twice in one day.

If you want to be a doctor, go to TUNCOM

Look, I'm trying to say this in the nicest possible way, but you're not God's gift to Medicine. Matching is on you, not the school. DO grads from my school have gone into surgery.

Hope is not a strategy, and don't fall for the sunk cost fallacy.
