I am getting ready to submit my applications, and have an idea of some of the schools I plan on applying. So far I am applying to: Drexel, Commonwealth, WVU, Sidney Kimmel, Tufts, Temple, Tulane, Toledo, Cincinnati, Quinnipaic, LECOM, PCOM, and some of the SUNY schools. Here is some info on me:
3.45 GPA, 3.5 sGPA (upward trend)
250+ hours volunteering in a hospital with direct patient contact
150+ hours shadowing
Co-founder of the knitting club
Health Coach
Independent Study on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (1 semester)
Member of national service fraternity (not social) ~100 hours of community service
Member of pre health club
Member of national psychology honors society, Psi Chi
Biochemistry tutor and General Chemistry TA
College committee (community standards)
Varsity Softball (Freshman year only)
1 summer worked full time as a caregiver in a nursing home
2 summers worked at a summer camp in an extremely underserved community
I have yet to take the MCAT but I am expecting/hoping to get a 506-510 (I take it July 8th). I would really appreciate any suggestions, I am applying to both MD and DO.
