Hey whats going on? I am just wondering if I have a shot this next year when I apply. My G.P.A overall is a 3.1 and my science is a 3.3. I blew my first three semester mainly because of my Crohns disease. I have finally got on a chemo treatment that has put my disease in remission. I have worked and shadowed with Will and Gordan Christensen(well known dentists) and have good letters from them. Do I have a shot if I receive a 20 or better on the dat?

I think so if you apply for Fall of 10. It would be a good idea to also write about your condition as well in your personal statement. I don't know who those Dentists are but don't rely on them being the key to your entrance. Shoot for a 20 on DAT and if those Dents know any adcoms, that may also be in your favor. Gluck dude

you're good to go. don't sweat it.
hope everything works out for you my friend.

You have a much better shot next year than this year....GPA cutoffs are getting higher and higher as the cycle progresses.

you have a similar gpa as mine (i have a 3.3). do very well on the DAT and you will be very competitive. i have 14 interviews out of the 20 schools i applied to thus far... so it's definitely possible. gluck!

Thanks for all the input. Good luck to you guys trying to get in Dental school!!

Man if you get a letter from Dr. Christensen that will go a looooong ways but you also have to score at least average on your DAT.

We have similar stats ... yours are prob better, hehe (3.17 sci, 3.4 cumm, 3.9 nonsci).

I'm 3 interviews/15 right now. Keep up the extra curriculars!

I would definitely include your condition in a PS. I hope everything is going really well for you. 🙂
