Hi everyone,
I am just having a hard time figuring out exactly when to apply to dental schools. I live in Alberta, Canada, and the location does not matter, as long as I get in somewhere!
My freshman year GPA was a 2.2 because ( I know this is no execuse) but my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and i just lost track of my goal.
So far this year I am doing good, with last semester having a GPA of 3.9.
I calculated the MAX cgpa I can get is 3.5.
Oh, and I have alot of voluneering hours, ext, and I have not taken the DAT yet.
So my question is... should I:
1. Apply in my 4th year, however I know that they do not look at the year you are currently doing. So only my 1st, 2nd and 3rd year would be counted, am I correct? Therefore my GPA would be horrible and not competitive at all.
2. Get masters, and apply in my last year (so 6th year).
Thanks for all your help!🙂
