Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice on what to do. I was accepted to a program (not crazy about it) and would end up paying roughly 120k without living expenses involved. However, I am currently waitlisted at my top choice school and if accepted would be paying about 80k ( I would be able to live at home). Just wondering if I should apply again next cycle if I don't get in to the school I was waitlisted at. I was rejected from schools this cycle because my falls grades didn't count in my gpa calculations. I am ready to start my career and school, but don't know if that much money is worth putting in to a program that I do not love.
Thanks!

In situations like these I would generally recommend that you just go to the one you were accepted to. In most cases, that one year going to a program versus applying for the next year translates into a year's worth of salary as a DPT in the near future so the difference in tuition and living expenses pretty much evens out. This, of course, is all under the assumption that your application is strong, and that you WILL be accepted by a program you are enthusiastic about. I feel in this case it boils down to your numbers. What's your GPA, GRE, # hours? Do you feel if you reapplied again, you'd for sure get in? Do you have a backup plan in the event you happen not to get accepted again?

Also, if you end up reapplying, make sure you continue to volunteer and contribute to the community in some way in the meantime. It looks really awful if you just have one year of dead-time without any legit explanation for it.

Thank you for your input!

I feel nervous for you to not go because there's no guarantee you will get in next year either. The only reason I might not go is if you have a rock solid job prospect for the next year.

what program cost 120k without living expenses?!?

Any private university will be about 40k a year usually

I would hesitate to pay $120k for any school before living expenses. That's pretty steep. Pretend you didn't apply to this school and just hope you get into another school. If you don't, improve your application and apply next year to less expensive schools.
