So I have a nova interview on 12/13, and I live in San Diego. I called Temple to schedule my interview, and the earliest they have is 11/28, and said it prolly wont get reviewed for the first round. So my question is, should i go 11/28, or wait a week so that i can go from temple to florida? Eg, go to temple 12/9, then fly to nova? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

do whatever is cheapest. if you won't be considered for the dec. 1st acceptances, then it really doesn't matter as long as you interview sometime in december.

good luck!

if she said "probably" that is NOT definitely!!! i would call back and find out when the adcom is officially meeting to review the candidates for dec. 1st acceptances. adcoms meet the end of november typically, and you are definitely cutting it close but there are still 2 days LEFT in nov. after you interview. if it were me, i would call again and get clarification 🙂

It depends... would you cancel your interview at Nova if you got an acceptance Dec. 1st for Temple (with the possibility you are considered for first round acceptances)? If so, then I would take it. I know cost of trips for interviews plays a big role in when you schedule flights and book hotels but... my feeling is, an extra $400 won't mean a thing once we're in dental school. $200,000 in debt or $200,400. I don't see much difference. So, if you are planning on going to wherever accepts you I would interview as early as possible. And to me, with Nova being in December, you won't be until the 2nd round of acceptances most likely. There is still that chance for Temple.

I would take both slots as scheduled and fly twice. Another couple hundred in order to not irritate the admissions office and receive the best possible consideration for admissions is worth every cent.

does anyone know how temple accepts? eg like UOP, do they accept majority of applicant by Dec 1? Or do they do like equal aceptances first and second rounds??

well, it doesnt matter to them i dont think so i can take either spot.

by 11/28 the adcoms have most likely already met and decided on the dec 1st acceptances. remember, many of the schools send out letters prior to dec 1st so they arrive on dec 1st. plus, with the thanksgiving holidays i'm guessing they make decisions prior to thanksgiving. i don't know if this is fact, i could be completely wrong, but it does make sense, right?

so, i'd go w/ the cheaper option! 👍
