I'm a 3rd year biochem major at a CA state university. Basically, I want to get into a dental school that has a good acceptance rate to the specialties (and the idea of going to Penn is in my mind, but their 3.6 average GPA is a little intimidating....:scared:). Should I take the DAT again?

My GPA is between a 3.2 and 3.3 (going upward) and I took the DAT this past August. My scores were:
BIO: 17 🙁
CHEM: 17 🙁
QR: 17
RC: 20
OCHEM: 23 😀
PAT: 24 😀
SCIENCE: 19
AA: 19
I'm thinking about doing a 1 year MBA program after I graduate (at the end of my fourth year). I would then apply to dental school that summer/fall of 2009, while attending business school. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

so you got this comming application cycle and the next. if that is true,,and i am no expert,,,,, apply to as many schools as you can this upcomming cycle,,make sure to apply in may on the first day the cycle begins ,,, thats verrrrrry important ,, more important than anything else related to the application cycle for you at the moment.apply to many schools , like 20 or so.
see what schools you get into and pick your top choice and then defer the acceptance for the following year after you have completed your mba. so now you have a safety school. at that point in time when you have that acceptance defferred and you are finishing of your degree(4year) write the dat again and go for the best grade you can get, thena gain apply in MAY on the first day the application cycle starts to the top schools that are 'better' than the school you already have an acceptance for, by that time your gpa should be higher too so your chances will be good,, and everybody lives happily ever after.............
