Hi all,
I'm thinking about applying to dental school for this upcoming cycle, but I'm not sure if I should do a postbacc/get a masters first considering my low BCPM GPA.
My stats are:
Overall GPA 3.35
BCPM GPA: 3.05
DAT AA: 33, PAT: 32
Biology major, coming from an ivy league university, 1 year of research + lots of clinical experience
I'm just afraid of not getting in anywhere and wasting time/money. Any advice/guidance/ways to strengthen my application would be much appreciated!
Wow, 33AA and 32PAT. Guess your ivy league education paid off.
That, or there was lots of extra credit on his/her DAT 😉

lolll sorry for the typo 23 and 22
Thanks for all the input; seriously appreciate it so much!
Gosh didn't realize dental schools looked at BCP instead of BCMP...my BCP GPA is only a a 2.98. 🙁(
Does this mean I should probably take more science classes (in the summer/in the fall) to boost this GPA? I had a healthcare consulting job offer (was going to take it because it paid much better than research and I figured it wouldn't matter so much what I did in my year off). Does this mean I'd be better off taking classes instead? Or maybe I really do need to do a post-bacc program before I'm competitive enough to apply?
Ah the road the dental school is so such an arduous journey.
