I recently submitted my app. I have a 25 MCAT and was going to retake it a third time this August. However, the whole point of applying early will be lost as most all schools will not grant an interview without having your august MCAT, regardless of having past scores. So applying early loses its advantage. Is this early advantage better than a late MCAT score but a possible 29 or 30 score? I can improve my score in Augus as I scored 6 points higher on Princeton tests the week before the real deal in April... I choked. Any advice?
THANKS

You've already taken it twice. What makes you think you will do that much better a third time? Practice tests are not always predictive because the conditions are different on test day.

Going from a 25 to a 30 is significant and could be the deciding factor whether you get in or not. Since you've taken it twice already, I doubt that taking it a 3rd time is going to make much of a difference, unless you find out what is holding you back from a solid score (maybe you're focusing on the wrong areas? ). If you are applying early thinking it will be easier than applying during regular application time then you are mistaken. Med school is too competitive to allow for such things to occur. If you honestly think you have a shot at getting that 30, then go and do it. If not, then don't waste your time and $185 and just apply with what you have.

Good luck

Apply with what you've got, and if you don't get in, take it again next year. I mean, you could do worse on the August one and then you're really screwed.
