I'm looking for some advice regarding my rotation options next year (m3)...
I have the opportunity to do a longitudinal clinical experience for 9 months that is known for giving students way more autonomy and procedural experience than normal rotations (less acuity and volume though), but I am mainly interested in EM and the timeline is somewhat concerning. I would not be able to start SLOE eligible rotations until July of my 4th year, maybe August. So I would probably be able to get 2 SLOEs in (both from my institution), but I would have a hard time fitting in an away rotation at all. Any EM gurus have an opinion on the impact of this on my residency competitiveness?
I have to decide relatively soon. I am also interested in general surgery, but either track would be sufficient for that.
Thank you
