Hi, this is my first time posting, so I hope I do this right..
I've read past post about those who wish to raise their GPAs and the benefits of doing a post-bac vs a masters program. I believe I will end up doing a masters program, but I need some advice.
My undergrad GPA is competative but I did attend another professional degree program about 6 years ago. I did not like it (I think I only applied in the first place b/c my dad was pressuring me to figure out my next step in life) and really screwed up my last semester. I left halfway (two years) through the program with my GPA being low (1.9). I take full responsibility for my lack of efforts back then and wish I could change what I did.
I'm in the process of studying for the DAT and doing my shadow hours, but I wonder if it's even worth it to apply for dental school in the next cycle, or should I just go ahead and try to get my masters? Do I even have a chance being accepted without one? The only negative I can see with a masters is the time and cost (I'm older and my husband wants to start a family sooner than later) but I believe it's the best way to show that I can indeed handle graduate level coursework.
Thanks for your advice!
