I would appreciate any advice on how to improve my application!

I got my BA in humanities in a foreign country in 2005. Its GPA is about 3.09
US GPA(about 70 units): 3.78
PRE-REQ(all taken in US): 3.66
GRE: 141V, 151Q, 3.5
OBSERVATION: 260 hours outpatient
APPLIED: USC,CSUN,WesternU
REJECTED: USC,WesternU (I am sure CSUN will reject me too)

I am going to retake my GRE of course and I am volunteering in an in-patient facility now (planning to get about 200 hours there). Do you think I need to go to a third facility???
WesternU does not require GRE, but they did not even invite me for an interview🙁.

retake GRE and volunteer at a third place, preferably not outpatient of inpatient. Do neuro, SNF, ect. Extra-curriculars?

Once you get that verbal GRE score up and get inpatient observation hours, your application will be stronger. I do think observing in a third setting would also greatly help. Why are you aiming for 200 hours in inpatient? If you have a lot of free time, it won't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary, especially if you also want to observe in a third setting. Even 50 hours in inpatient and another 50 hours in a third setting (such as sports, aquatic, pediatric, etc) would make your application stronger. Aside from the numbers, the strength of your application can be influenced by the essay, letters of recommendation, and extracurriculars.

Just like the previous posters said, get some more varied experience and do well on the GRE. Aim for a total score of 300 or more. That 3.5 analytical score looks a little low too. Also I'm not sure why you put a smiley face after you said CSUN would probably reject you. I certainly wouldn't be smiling if I thought a school was going to reject me. Keep us posted and good luck!

Take another year and improve that app and then apply again next cycle! Definitely apply to more schools if this is what you truly want!
