Advise on chances

Hey guys a male friend of mine just graduated and he does not have an account here so asked me to find out.

He has a overall GPA 3.05 and a science 2.93 with a 1 year and a half mostly As and Bs. But he took his DAT and got a 23TS and 23AA. Do u guys think he might have any oportunity for next cycle. I know he has low stats but he was working 2 jobs and had health issues in the family for quite a while as well. Thanks any input will be appreciated.

PS. He has great letters of rec and has worked in many leadership jobs as a manager for a bank, insurance company, he has a company today yeah he is a 25 year old business owner. But dentistry is what he wants. Also he has lots of dental related experience as he worked for 2 years in a dental office as the head of the billing department. Thank you

There is a spot on the application for special considerations. I am sure he can put his health status in there. He should also research schools that will take a sub 3.0 in science. This will prevent automatic rejections. Also, there is time to get the science gpa up. 1 A can get them above 3.0. With a DAT like that I think it will give your friend a solid chance for an interview. A 23 is not easy to get. There are a lot of high scores on SDN.

I got in this year with almost the exact same scores and experiences. Great Personal statement and a good trending GPA will definitely help though. PM if you want to get specific
