I received an additional acceptance really late.

Can anyone comment on which program might be a better option?

University of La Verne --Clinical Psy.D.

or

Argosy University, Santa Ana Orange County --Clinical Psy.D.(recently received APA-accreditation 01-2008)

I'd appreciate comments that are constructive and critical.
Please refrain from Psy.D. -bashing opinions.👍

sorry for the advice typo

La Verne is Community-Clinical combined PsyD by the way. But if that doesnt matter to you, then I would take La Verne over Ailliant any day.

It was Argosy, not Alliant

Thanks so much for your reply. Can you please give me some reasons why you would go that way?

Both Psy.D's, both about the same cost, APA-curriculum is about the same (Community is only 3 more classes)

Please let me know, okay🙄

Argosy has something of a bad reputation, IIRC.

Boy, I wish I would get some more in-depth explanations.🙁

I would advise doing a search to read about why Argosy, and the professional schools in general tend to have poor reputations. Argosy is proabably the worst of all them however. I'm sure some of their campuses are better than others, however, only one campus has anything that comes close to the national average for intership match, according to APPIC stats from previous years. From my personal experience, there is an Argosy near my school and their students are not even looked at by many of the practicum traing sites in this area (eg., the local VAs and academically affiliated hopsitals/clinics). Students from my university, and even another professional school in the area, have better reps and fatter vitas. It may not be fair, or even warranted in some cases, but this is the way the world works.

Would you say Alliant L.A. would be better than Argosy?
