Hello and happy new year!
I was wondering if anyone has an idea of which GPR/AEGD programs offer externships or shadowing? I know that COVID has really thrown a wrench in just about everything, so I am curious about programs you may know of that offered these kind of opportunities before the pandemic.
I am currently in my third year of dental school and am debating either an AEGD/GPR or going right into work when I graduate next spring. We have a couple of long weekends in January and Feburary, as well as a spring break in March and I was thinking of trying to use some of these time slots to shadow or extern.
Cheers and thanks for any info!

Pretty much all AEGD and GPR programs are not allowing candidates to visit due to risk of exposing or spreading the virus to their patients. Would need to contact program directors to make sure. Search Google for ADEA pass search engine and you will be able to see which ones offer externships.
Also what are you looking to do after you graduate? If you want to get good at surgical exts and learn more endo the GOR’s are great. But if you want to do crown and bridge and all the low hanging fruit then just go into practice.

Appreciate the response! By GOR do you mean GPR, or is that a term I'm not familiar with?
I have had some talks with current fourth years that turned down GPR/AEGDs for practice so that they can "get good at the fundamentals before they learn more in depth work". Makes sense what youre saying though!
