Hello guys,

Is it a bad idea to rotate at a hospital that is only affiliated with a residency program?

For example, students at my school can rotate at Mount Sinai in Chicago. Mount Sinai doesn't have a program, but EM residents from Resurrection and U of C rotate there.

So it is a greenbook rotation, but is it a poor plan to do a rotation here if you plan on matching in EM?

Thanks!

The biggest issue I'd see is that you'll need SLORs for ERAS if you plan on matching into EM. As only EM-residency faculty can complete them, you'll need to be sure that the people you work with at Sinai are faculty within a program.

That being said, you may want to actually rotate at a site that has an EM residency...
