Well my pre-reqs are almost completed yet I have a very low and embarassing GPA (2.67), really I been doing OKAY but not extraordinary, like super high A in my science classes but its the history and gov classes that killed my grades because of my laziness. I am currently attending University of Texas in Arlington and this summer I plan on retaking my micro, statistics and currently retaking my organic I class right now. So far its going pretty well I've got a high B to an A in there and just need to do well on the final to obtain my A.

My only worry is I don't know if I should even apply to pharmacy school here in TX. I feel as if I really don't stand a chance. Just wondering if maybe doing well on PCAT might give me a open opportunity. Plus I think im going to visit some schools this summer just to get an idea of the campus setting and have my face recognized. You know anything to help me increase the chances.

So I figure after this summer I plan on applying early and try as hard as I can to get all A's to at least pull up my nasty GPA. Even though it wont go up that much. Plus by next spring I'll be graduating under a BS in Biology. So any input from you guys please help!

I've told myself to never give up and keep on going, but Im hoping by saying that ill get somewhere in the end and can finally put a smile on my parent's face and for myself as well 🙂

Whats up Mr_Ritim,

Here are some words of encouragement...DON'T GIVE UP :meanie: . I was in the same position that you are in, if not worse. I raised my overall GPA up from a 1.67 to a 3.31 by taking courses over outside of the pre-reqs (ala...english and math). I didn't think that I was going to get in anywhere but I was surprised when I got my acceptance letter from Touro. Thing is...my science GPA is what brought up my overall GPA. There is plenty of time left to make corrections.

Good Luck 😀 ,

1.67 😵

I take it the 3.31 doesn't average the old grades right?

That's crazy, congrats man.

To OP: Yes, retaking classes definately helps you. Plus scoring high on the PCAT is always a good sign. =)
