The class in question is Histology, which isn't required by the school I'm probably going to attend...

Would this be heavily frowned upon?

I don't think they would care, once you are already in. I still might take it for a grade. You will be motivated to do better in the class than simply getting a 'P'. Histology will come in handy for d-school and you will already have a strong foundation. Also, histology is fun 🙂.
