So most schools ask you to send updated transcripts to them even after you have been accepted. Do those grades/ course (non pre-req) bear any weight or have any effect after you have paid the money to hold your seat??

I'm just curious as to why they want those if they have already offered you a spot in the class.

I know med schools hold the right to revoke their offer, im sure it's the same with optometry, you'll be fine unless you completely blow your last semester or 2.

Short answer.....YES!!!

I already know of one student that was declined their acceptance since they failed a course once having been given a seat for this years class...........

Yes, your acceptance can be revoked. I was accepted last October for PCO and then a week after classes started in August got my "final acceptance" once they received my undergrad transcript and had my updated information. It was weird, seeing as I had already paid tuition and started classes, to get a letter in the mail saying I was officially accepted.

Like they said, it's possible to have your acceptance revoked. But they also need them to make sure you completed all your pre-reqs.
