Understandable why Aortic stenosis is associated with decreased murmur intensity, what about mitral stenosis? bc it only mentions regurgitant murmurs and VSD. ALso why in VSD do we get an increase in intensity? what pressure gradient is being created?

I think since you're increasing the resistance accross the aortic valve due to increased after load, there will be a higher flow through a regurgitant mitral valve or VSD due to increased flow.

^yup, path of least resistance basically. If you make it harder to go through the aortic valve with increased after load then you will increase regurg and the pressure gradient from left to right in VSD as said above.
