first off, congrats to those who matched, now we've just the long wait till Friday. and to those who didn't match, gather your thoughts and don't despair. I was in that same position one year ago, and on receiving that wretched email from the nrmp it felt like someone had reached across the screen and gutted me. all my hard work for the past four years drained to nothing at that moment. well, at least for those involved in the soap this year there won't be the same amount of scramble bs ever again. and please don't be coerced by your school (or by yourself) into a pursuing a speciality where you won't be happy. halfway into the first day of scramble last year the great ERAS crash of 2011 happened. well, I'd call the entire scramble up to that point the biggest clusterf**k in recent memory. In those 2-3 hours however I gained some clarity and my wracked psyche recevied some consolation. when ERAS came online again, I simply walked out and made the decision to take a year off to reapply to the speciality wherein my true interests lay. so please, take a breather and don't despair, there's light at the end of this tunnel yet.

Amen. A few years ago I too experienced the horrible disappointment of not matching. Hopefully the Soap will be less chaotic than the scramble. Even with that awful old scramble system though most of us ended up doing all right in the end so don't lose hope.
