AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :scared: This process is so stressful. Am I going to get in? My GRE score is way sub-par and my BPA could use some help. I still have to write that darn personal statement!! Why is a state that have not lived in for 3 years still considered my home state? Are my experiences good enough? What will I do if I dont get accepted? What if I do get accepted?? How can I pay for Vet school? What sill I do afterwards? Will I forget everything I learned if I dont go into practice right away? Will I ever be able to do my own research? AHHHH ek uggg 😱 hak hak, Ahem. *sigh* Well, I feel better. Thanks for listening. 😳

A lot of people don't get in on their first try - if you don't, it's not the end of the world!!! Taking time off from college before grad school is a GREAT idea. You get to explore other career ideas, or broaden your experiences in the career you are interested in. So don't feel like vet school is your only option for the year or two after college.

Also, don't try for dual state residency. You have to tell the schools that you have dual residency, and then neither "in state" school will give you residency consideration. Or it's very rare that they consider you an in state student. If NC State is where you really want to go, then live and work in North Carolina for a year after you graduate to get residency.

Anyway, good luck. Don't stress too much. 👍 If you're persistant, you'll get to where you want to be in the end!

I feel you. This must be one last attempt to weed out all the people who aren't dedicated enough to make it through vet school. Well, they can't get rid of me that easily. I haven't even taken my GRE yet, 😱 that's this Sat. 😱 and the I have to take the Bio GRE in Nov WHILE I'M IN SCHOOL! Personal statement, letters of recommendations, and the OSU (Oklahoma) vet school application material was supposed to be available yesterday but still isn't out. Maybe I should have taken my advisor's advice and applied last year. I wasn't qualified for acceptance yet, but at least I would have gone through the process already.

I agree with CoffeeCrazy...most ppl don't get in on their first try and if u don't....its not the end of the world. Just beef up yer application. I heard of some ppl who applied to vet school 5x! and didn't get in until their 6th try....so...some ppl never give up....You'll be fine...don't worry so much about stuff that hasn't happened yet...u will go crazy!

everybody now... a collective deeeeep breath 🙂

It will all work out...one way or the other! Maybe not the way you forsee it, or the way you would of preferred, but that's okey...thats the story of life i suppose.

heartsong - I sympathize with you on the Bio GRE! I stiiillll have nightmares about that exam...the one thing i can suggest, is *really* study up on plant anatomy/physiology. The exam i took last year was probably 60% plant 😱 needless to say... I am *really* glad that only Missouri got those scores!!
