Hi! Has anyone obtained acceptance into the Dpt program at AIC for this fall? I'm an out of state student starting the program in August. Any info from past or current students would be appreciated as well. Thanks

Hey, did you receive your letter if yes did you get in.

I was accepted a few weeks ago. I'm a little concerned about the tuition though, which is about 10K more per year compared to other private DPT programs in CT. Are you familiar with A.I.C? How is their program compared to others?

I'm just grateful for getting into a DPT program everywhere else I'm wait listed so the money the place is not my concern as long as I'm receiving a degree is my only concern.

The program is pretty intense but if you are good at time management, you will do fine. You just have to make the required adjustments such as studying every night and practicing outside of class time with other students. It is expensive but it is such a rewarding field. I am currently in my first clinical rotation and having so much fun. AIC has a great PT program and you get everything that you need to prepare you for your first internship.

Also, you will be even more grateful when you make it through the first semester. You will say "That was nothing" lol.

Great to hear you are enjoying A.I.C! Now that you have completed your first year do you feel there would be any extra time to hold a part-time job during this program? Or do you think that would put your academic performance at jeopardy?

Although it is not recommended, a lot of us are working part time jobs. I do not have financial support from my parents so I feel "forced" to work. But I only work on the weekends. I manage to get some studying in too. If you are working so much that you are not studying at all, then you are at risk of failing. But it is all about time management and what works for you. Be prepared for weekly quizzes and exams.

That is reassuring to know as well. It will really help out financially if I'm able to work a part time job, even just 10 hrs per week.

Yes so do what you can handle. PT school seems scary at first but just know that you are not alone. Where are you from? Do you start gross anatomy this summer?

Yes, I believe Gross Anatomy starts August 4th and I'll be commuting from CT Litchfield area

That is awesome. You will enjoy the professor. She is so intelligent and very helpful. I wish you the best of luck in your first semester of PT school!

Hi i have just completed my first year and it was awesome. I am currently doing my clinical rotation in an outpatient clinic.
Oh what a relief, I'm so happy for you can't wait to get there. How do the students cope with living, on campus seems ughh. Know any off campus spots that are nice and affordable.
