Can someone please explain how to prevent an air embolism in a patient who is about to be put on a respirator, getting a central line taken out, or otherwise? Reverse trendelenburg? I figure you SICU folks out there would know. Thanks for your help!

I think Left lateral decubitus positioning, in addition to Trendel. so that air stays in Right ventricle.

I thought it's left lat decub + trendel, not Reverse trendel??
