Airplane notes

I know they are out there--but how do you find them and get a hold of them?

Normally, you get them from the higher level residents in your program.

There is great variation in how effectively the residents at different programs collect and distribute airplane notes. In the program where I did my residency, it was pretty great. At the program where I was faculty, it was almost nonexistent. If you're at this type of program, then having friends at other programs will help you out.

I think they are the quick notes that people make after taking boards trying to remember questions off the test made on the airplane ride home... not 100 percent on that though

This is correct.

1. They are illegal (a violation of both proprietary information and in direct violation of a legally binding contract signed prior to sitting for boards).

2. Possession of these, if caught, constitutes grounds from dismissal from program and forfeiture of eligibility to sit for boards.

"They are illegal"... was going to point that out too but didnt want to do so and be wrong... it was also illegal to do for any of the USMLE Steps as well... sure would suck to have it screw up your life in derm though...
