I am currently on 4 waithlists at highly ranked med schs and i have an interview coming up at Albany on the 18th....do you rhink I should go or withdraw taking chances that I will get in in one of the schools I was waitlisted at?

What do u think?

And if you have interviewed at Albany could you tell me what to expect?

Your chances are probably better than mine, since I interview on the 24. I actually have 5 interviews in the last week of april. But I also applied pretty late so that probably explains why. At this point I am pretty sure we are just interviewing to be put on the waitlist. But based on last years stats, albany only accepts about 30% of its applicants. Just food for thought.

At many schools the sooner you interview the better, but not Albany. At AMC, it doesn't matter. After you interview (thursdays), the committee meets the next week (tues i think) and scores you. there is a set score that if you are above it, you get an 'immedicate' acceptance, and if not you get put on hold with everyone else. when they are done interviewing, they give the remaining spots to the highest scored applicants, in order of score. so interviewing late does not necessarily put you at a disadvantage at Albany. Whether it is worth your time or not, you will have to decide.

Definately KEEP GOING TO INTERVIEWS until you have that acceptance letter in hand. You want to be a doctor right? Give yourself the best statistical chance possible.

thanks Mercer, JohnM and megkudos. I was just trying to save myself the trouble of flying not to mention saving a buck or two. However I guess it wouldnt hurt me in anyway.
Thanks again
