AMC
Pros:
LCOM (VT campus)
Pros:
It appears that they both match relatively similarly, but I would appreciate any insight on how they perform with residency placement.
Pros:
- Clinical experience
- They seem to push their simulation center as a great resource
- Preclinical is Honors, Pass, Fail
- Clinical is Excellent with honors, excellent, marginal, and unsatisfactory (more room to differentiate from other applicants?)
- The student body seemed nice and like they knew each other
- Serves a large population and has an urban feel to the school
- The hospital is right there and a Level 1 trauma center for a large region
- All NBME exams
- Preclinical is remote with the exception of anatomy and practical skills
- Older campus
- I've heard the administration can be hard to get help from
- Research seems a little harder to get than at LCOM
LCOM (VT campus)
Pros:
- Active learning classroom style
- Seems to have more resources for research
- P/F preclinical
- Most exams are in-house, with some NBME
- Seems to push a collaborative curriculum
- Had a great interview experience, and seems like admin is involved in the life of students
- Seems pretty rural
- Further away from home (both are a drive though)
