I'm trying to decide whether or not to visit Albert Einstein. The reviews are mostly pretty negative on scutwork.com but are all by students. I was hoping a resident, recent graduate, or someone else in the know could give us the scoop.

I didn't get a good vibe at Einstein. Didn't like interviewing w/ three attendings at a time. Surely I didn't like the location... Lacking on some important clinical aspects, particularly regional and off-pump cases... One of the CA-3's who met us had only done one interscalene block and had 5 months to the end of residency. That being said, others may find it an attractive option based on proximity to the city/village and very reasonable work hours.

Waited around until almost noon, had my three attending interview and immediately after I had a 2 attending interview. Prepare to be waiting around in a closed room for a long, long time.

holy cow 😱 . I might consider dumping this interview too. There's absolutely no reason to have three people interview you at once. You would think the less competitive programs would want to make you feel as comfortable as possible... since you ain't gonna gimme the "name and prestige", at least gimme that "warm and fuzzy" feeling...

I didn't even apply here because, If I was going to live in the bronx for 3yrs, I would rather choose Westchester Medical center and live in a nice suburb. Driving distance to manhattan is not that much different from what I hear and AECOM is not that much better than WMC program i believe. yea, bronx sucks pretty bad IMHO....(Wow, 3 attendings grillin you, gotta be tough). Glad I chose not to apply at all.
