Anyone else feel like D1's been a fun year? (minus the exams of course)
5 more days...3 more exams...and one night of fun before I get to see Ca's beautiful SUN again 🙂
okie back to cramming 🙂

thank you! thank you!
where are you going for college? (PLEASE please PLEASE tell me you're going to be a BRUIN...) 🙂

oh I am so jealous make sure you have a ton of fun during orientation! hehe I think I slept a total of 2 or 3 hours those 3 days 🙂 It was so fun...I never figured out who my "roommates" were those few days...
hope you're staying in the Hall's... I was in sunset for 3 yrs and it was great having someone come clean your private bathroom and stuff but you really don't meet as many people that way...if you can Take Bauer for Chem 14A (he's really easy...and I'll give you more hints later on)...(i know this sounds nerdy...but it doesn't hurt to get to know some of the dental drs a few months into your schooling)

MAKE SURE YOU GET TICKETS TO THE FOOTBALL AND BBALL GAMES!! (if you don't happen to use them, can I have them if I'm in town? 😉 )

        8 clap!!

cali seems like its own world on these boards. Its like a world away from here, and I've never been there. As I try to decide on a place to settle for post bacc, I think about it but am scared off by the merciless UC schools. Is it hard for out-of-state students to get residency there and take some undergrad postbacc classes with a strong previous record?

Lizard, maybe you would like to start a new thread cause i have no idea... i haven't really thought that far ahead yet... my goal now is just to graduate... pass the Ca boards and work at western dental and live at home (where there's ample food) for the rest of my life 😉 😀 😛

Oh, ug.. Dystra...yuck...but I am sure not it's better since De Neve's there and you won't have all that construction going on and it's actually really really beautiful. The plus side is that you can almost just roll out of bed in PJ's and go to lecture... Let me know what you decide to take... just wondering are you a minority or have had any "hardships"? cause if you did try to Join AAP...sometimes they have old exams and stuff 🙂

I'm so excited that we got new coaches for both football and bball... too bad I probably won't have time to keep up w/ it.... I hope you get BBall tickets...they're SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hard to come by...

🙂

ahhh...dykstra hall...just make sure you don't get stuck in the dungeon!!!
good luck with ucla!!! it's gonna be a great 4 years...

weight room 😕 😕
hmmm i am not sure, but ug i forget the name now (obviously i didn't go there often...Cusp help me out) is like a 5 min walk away... it has a huge weight room, a cardio room (that better be there since it was our graduation class gift) and an excersize area etc... (it's right next to student health...and really clause to Pauly Pavillion).
Dykstra might be better now since you don't have to hike up the hill just to eat everyday. But I think there's a cafeteria in De Neve Plaza 🙂
I miss undergrad 😛

Of course, Cusp is a bruin. The most famous bruin at TEMPLE.

thank you tink...
luminous...yes i am a bruin...MCDB class of '98
i wish i could give you some helpful advice about classes but it's been so long since i've taken classes there, my advice might be antequated. =oP If Dr. weatherwax is still there you should take her molecular biology lab class...she's an awesome teacher and we had a class potluck at the end...it was a blast! I'm not sure if Dr. Kasamatzu is still their either but she's also very nice. hehe...i think that's all the profs. i can remember that made an impression on me at least....=oP i'm sure you'll do fine...just stay focused and don't get lost in the sea of the rest of the 34,000 or something students that are on campus! pretty soon you'll be able to say I am done being a D1!!!!...wooo hoo!!!! hehehehe

p.s...pasahj...trojans suck...😀
pi_guy....you're just jealous...hehehehe
😎

Pi Guy: you better becareful I know where you live! IN NY and Chicago 😛

PJ...😡 you know you want to be a bruin...but you weren't good enough so u had to be a bobcat 😛

Cusp, i don't think either one of those profs are at ucla anymore...i wasn't an MCDB but I checked a lot of those classes and have never heard of either one...
Stay away from Phelan 🙂 (scary story...i was at vegas, and just flipping thru channels and I saw him on tv...ug what a way to ruin a vacation!)

Truthfully I only followed the Trojans this year because my best friend went to USC Med. Yeah NYU had no good sport teams and I wish it was the Bobcats...they're more famous for being Violets.

i was going to work at central sterilization, but then they didn't need an extra person and I got refered to another job in the prosth department and that turned out to be the BEST thing 🙂 Good pay, good people, good job, worked w/ dental material....
anyways, i never did any dental volunteering for ucla.

I worked at one of the former Ortho Prof's private practice for 2 or 3 yrs...and did research for another Ortho Prof at the school for 3 yrs and did that Prostho job for 2.5 yrs 🙂

don't ask me how i manage to get the research and jobs...it was all luck... i wasn't even really interested in (or knew anything about) dentistry it just all happened.... 🙂

I think you should start looking for a SRP (student research program/project(?)) just do a search on ucla's website...and maybe find a prof sometimes towards the end of the year (or winter quarter if you're really that ambitious) but enjoy Fall... 🙂

just remember the more people you the more connections you will have later on (hint hint)
