For those applying to programs now, I was wondering whether you are emailing programs individually about being elected into AOA or sending notification to the SF Match. It's more straightforward to update the information on ERAS.

I emailed a few select programs, them just turned the election letter in to the SF Match. Plus, it will be in your Deans Letter...
If a program has already offered you an interview, I don't see what would be gained by sending them an email. If you think a place is stalling for time, or still considering your app, a well placed email may come in handy.
