Hey all,

So I am on the alternate list at LECOM Erie and I was also offered to join their post-bacc program. In their email, they said that everyone who passes with a GPA greater than 3.2 and successfully completes the interview, although not guaranteed a spot in next year's med school class, has a high chance of getting in. I was wondering if anyone was in the same situation as me and completed the program and is now in their med school, and what advice they have. Also, the email said that all the information we submitted from our application to their med school gets considered for their post bacc program, so I was wondering if that means that if our MCAT scores were okay for the last cycle we applied to, does that mean they won't be looking at MCAT scores anymore if we join the post bacc program as alternates? Thank you!

Is this post-secondary? or post-interview?

Yes, it means your MCAT is fine and you will not have to retake it

I did the post bacc last year and am an incoming MS1 next week. If you do decide to do the post bacc, as long as you have above a 3.2 gpa, maintain a professional behavior, and just have a normal interview, you’re basically guaranteed an acceptance.

Oh okay, thank you!

I would talk to the admissions director directly and ask them to seriously tell you how good of a chance you have. Post-Baccs are not cheap and therefore I would reccomend talking to those who will be reviewing your app year from now to get a feel.
