Alternate list @ UCLA

Hi. I just received an e-mail that I am placed on the alternate list and have to wait until April. .

I've gotten into UCSF already, but I was hoping to get into UCLA cuz it's closer to my house.

Should I still have hope for UCLA ? or is it wiser for me to decide my mind to go to UCSF?

now honestly I am just saying how it was for my gf that's in a diff field but i woudl think it's the same.

If the school you are waitlisted from is really the one you want to go to. Maybe you should just accept the other, put down the deposit and go from there and if you get in, then tell them you changed your mind.

Yeah you're gonna lose your deposit however much that may be but it's for the next four years of your life that will also have pretty much an adverse affect on the REST of your life, right?

This is all based on if you have to make a decision before you here from UCLA. IMO it is obvious you should put down the deposit bc you don't want to get screwed and be going no where

To make you feel a little better pretty sure we have individuals in the class this year off the alternate list. No idea what the odds are or historical data so don't take much stock in my pretty sure comment.

Just curious though (sorry if its a dumb/answered question), is it really a list where you're numbered? And do they give you your number?

I'm seriously depressed now that I got waitlisted even though I had my interview @ UCLA pretty early.

I asked the school how many ppl they put on the waitlist total...
