Has anyone ever used some of their private alternative school loan to purchase a car? I'm thinking about applying for an extra $15,000 on my loan to purchase a honda and I just wanted to know if it is DO-ABLE, or if anyone has been succesful in getting the full amount of money that they applied for on a alternative loan.

I've done it... and if you have enough or make enough to be able to do that, go for it. You get much better interest rates if you get a "school-related loan" than the traditional auto loan (although they're not bad now).
