I know everyone is gearing up for interviews (Yay!) and I figure I will be asked this, as well as many others, so thought I'd start a thread for ideas because I didn't see one already. It seems interviewers almost always ask what your thoughts are on alternative/holistic medicine. However, I also know there are some vets that wholeheartedly believe in it, and some who laugh at it.

Can you think of a good way to answer the question? I can see both sides of the issue, but don't want to come off as wishy-washy.

Make a list of pros and cons, or reasons why you personally would or wouldn't use holistics. Seeing both sides of the argument doesn't mean you are wishy-washy.

The AVMA FINALLY came out against Homeopathy (not to be confused with Holistic/Alternative medicine).

In terms of being wishy-washy... might as well give credence for a geocentric model of the universe, the Loch Ness Monster, ESP, and intelligent design.

You are going to be a scientist... look at the data, remove your convictions, and come to a conclusion. Do that and you will always know the 'right' answer; with respect to our current understanding and level of knowledge of the earth. Even better, you will be able to defend it vehemently!
