I searched around the forum for a while now and haven't really come upon anything as an alternative to the destroyer practice books. I am wondering if anyone has found or has compiled a list of resources online that could be used as an alternative to these books. Im not looking for a replica to these, just something that I can do in the mean time instead of the destroyer books (which i cannot afford)

I don't really know what is in the books besides practice problems and I wanted to know if anyone on here has been using something other than the destroyer and any other purchasable books of that nature, like a website or a number of websites that do offer free practice problems that would be somewhat similar to what we may see on the DAT.

I appreciate the help.

the DAT is not an overly popular exam, the practice materials for it are rather limited. The most famous (and in my opinion) best chemistry review guide in the market today is the destroyer, its also the cheapest resource out there

Another set that I am not very familiar with is the CRACK company (crack DAT reading / sciences / PAT), but they are not cheaper than destroyer.

Kaplan blue book (amazon for about $50-60 brand new) does an okay job reviewing topics, but no where near as effective as destroyer since it doesn't have any practice problems.

Chads vids are an excellent review resource for the 2 chemistry sections, even better than KBB, but they don't have the appropriate level of practice problems (or they didn't when I reviewed them 7-8 months ago)... so you should supplement chads with destroyer (or another resource if you find)

My only suggestion/concern for you is... if you can't afford buying the Destroyer book, how will you have $$$ to apply to dental schools? Everything about being a pre-dent is expensive: from buying DAT materials, to paying for the DAT exams it self, I think the fee has gone up to $300 now (used to be $200-ish in my time), paying AADSAS fees, paying school's secondary fees, flying to interviews & staying at hotels. Your looking at thousands of dollars without even a guarantee of an acceptance

Good luck to ya
