Come across URM alot and finally looked it up.

I am from Europe, particularly Denmark and my ethnicity is half Danish half African American, although here in America the danish side is considered Caucasian. I was born in Louisiana but spent all of my childhood in Denmark so I am an American citizen. Would this make me a URM?

And Ive also seen this term being thrown around alot when it comes to pre-med students "what are my chances" posts. Does being a URM actually increase the chances of acceptance to med school?
