It's a fine list, but I can't recommend Nova.Hi I've applied to the following list of DO schools this cycle.
MSUCOM
NYITCOM-Old Westbury campus
CCOM
PCOM-Philidelphia
UNECOM
TouroCOM California
NOVA
My stats are
CGPA:3.44 SGPA:3.4 (Strong upward trend with 3.8+ my last few semesters) from a top 10 public school in the country
MCAT: 510(126/125/129/130)
ECS: 200 Hours clinical volunteering , 100 hours shadowing , 100 hours volunteer tutoring for nonprofit, 1 year of undergraduate research, 1 year of NIH IRTA Postbacc Research.
Letter of Recs: I have 5 total. 2 from science professors, one from non-science professor, one from my premed advisor and one from a DO I shadowed.
State of Residence: Virginia
Any people that had similar stats had success with the following schools? Is my list too top heavy for my stats?
OP likely applied to home state MDsYou'll get in somewhere, but why not applying to homestate DO?
Possible danger of too few schools.
Note - MSUCOM is a fantastic school that will run you 80K in tuition alone
Just curious as to why OP would overlook VCOM. He'd be a shoe in.OP likely applied to home state MDs
Top heavy as far as DO schools... he could be right. MSUCOM, CCOM and PCOM are tough schools to get into and that's half his list.Top Heavy? I think you have a great shot at any DOs and some MDs

Respectable. Good luck!I just want to get out of my home state. I've been here my whole life and I know I shouldn't be picky when it comes to medical schools but I would really hate to spend another 4 years here interacting with the same people I've known my whole life(I have a lot of familiar faces at vcom).
