Am i missing anything crucial?

Hey everyone I was just notified about this site from a friend of mine and i really wish i had known about it earlier, it could have saved me a lot of stress.

anyway i was just wondering if any of you could give me tips or notify me if im forgetting something crucial to do.
So far ive:
1. completed and submitted my aadsas on july 14 i believe and this is without a DAT score (im taking it Sept 2 but some friends told me to submit it anyway so that i could get an early aadsas number).
2. received secondary app requests from 2 of the three schools i applied to. Still waiting on Loma Linda and was wondering if its normal to wait a month to hear back from a school.
3. and now im just studying for my upcoming dat.

should i be doing anything else? i'm a complete novice to this whole application process and sadly was very ill prepared to apply but im trying to make the best of it.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's a good thing that you have already submitted your AADSAS application, but with that being said, why did you apply to only 3 schools? You haven't taken your DAT yet, but is your GPA so high that you feel comfortable you will get interview invitations, assuming you get a decent DAT score? If you only applied to a select few schools due to financial constraints, then that is understandable. However, I would definitely do some more research and see what other schools you can apply to. You can check out predents.com or purchase the 2009 ADEA Official Guide to Dental Schools. As for your question on how long it takes to hear anything from dental schools, I don't think it's too abnormal to not hear anything after a month. Just give it some more time, and if you don't want to wait, just call the school and ask them if they received your app yet.

Yeah i only applied to three because money is a bit tight for me and i'm paying for it myself.

Thanks for the input i really appreciate it. I'm just paranoid that i'm forgetting something really important.

You seem to be doing everything else pretty well. It would have been better if you had your app complete by now, but there's nothing you can do about it now. Just focus on your DAT studying for the next few weeks and make sure to do well. Take lots of practice exams b/c it's a very time-intensive exam and you need to make sure you can make it through the 4 hour exam without burning out near the end. Also, call up the 3 schools you applied to and see if you can fax them your unofficial score report after you take the DAT and if it will help speed up the process for your application status.

did you send AADSAS your transcripts and LOR?

yeah i sent in all my transcripts and got my four LOR on aadsas.. the only thing thats not there is my dat score.

i honestly feel like the application process is worse than studying for the DAT.

You should apply to more schools unless you are sure you will get in somehow. You can still add more schools now btw.
