Just wanted to make sure I was on the right track and not missing anything major. I just finished my fourth semester, plan on applying 2016 and my major is chemical engineering. So far I have managed to scrap a 4.0 and have not yet taken the MCAT, which I plan on taking next year in April. My extracurricular include 250 hours of clinical research with an MD/PhD that runs a research center (no publication) with some descent patient contact. I also spent about 250 hours researching this semester with a professor at my school working on medical devices, and plan on continuing in the summer. Sadly no publications there either.

I also have 50 hours of clinical volunteering at a hospital and 40 hours of volunteering at habitat for humanity. Plan on bringing both of those up to 100 before I apply. Have also been employed as a school tutor for the past semester ( 100 hours).

I'm looking to try and become a TA or gain a leadership position in my hospital volunteering club, but just got an email that it looks like I won't have the hospital club leadership position next semester...

I also have 50 hours shadowing a gastrologist in germany, 25 hours shadowing a cardiologist (MD/PhD) and 5 hours shadowing an ophthalmologist.

Yes I think you're doing pretty well, as was said a good MCAT score is needed. I think the TA route would compliment your tutoring experience nicely, and you probably should continue with the non-clinical volunteering as well since that is a bit sparse as of right now.

Dude, dude, dude.

You're on the right track.

People are toying with you.

Sounds like you know what you're doing. You need to have significantly more clinical and non-clinical volunteering.
