Lecom says they require 2 hours of inorganic lab. I only have one, but they sent me an interview. Are they going to catch that? Will I be okay with only 1 hour??

Schools will still send you interviews despite not having all the pre-reqs. It's on you to complete the requirements prior to matriculation if you get accepted.

Don't most places require 2 hours of Gen chem lab? You should take it if you can, prior to matriculating, you don't want to put yourself at any sort of risks after putting in all that effort to get accepted.

The only chem lab my school offers is 1 credit. What do I do?

I have 1o hours of inorganic chem with just 1 lab

What do you mean? You're saying that your school doesn't have Chem Lab 2? How's that possible? All medical schools require 2 hours of Gen Chem lab. If I were you, I would contact your pre-health advisor at your school and make sure they don't have such a course or just take it at a CC or somewhere else.

As others have said, you can get ii's without completing pre-reqs, but if you are accepted, you better believe when the school requests your official transcripts to verify you completed the pre-reqs they'll notice if anything is missing. I wouldn't wait until then to fix it if I were you.

Many schools have a one semester lab for gen chem 1 & 2 combined. I mean admittedly the entire lab is a giant joke with very little scientific foundation and learning and more an intro to measurement and cooking.

No I get that, but in that case, its usually 2 credits or more. My undergrad for example had a 1 semester course for labs, but they were worth 4 credits each and met multiple times a week (2-3). Those courses were not a joke though (they took labs very seriously).

My friends college has it as 1 cred. Other schools have their classes as half credits.

It's all really complicated lol.

schools will send IIs and even acceptances without completion of required coursework. They assume you will complete it prior to matriculation.

If the material from your lab course covered both semesters of inorganic lab, get documentation as such and submit it to schools where you are a serious candidate to see if they will waive the requirement for you. If not, you will need to take it in the spring or summer -- before counting on summer, double check that the dates don't extend into the beginning of med school.

I will be sending a memo to Touro, pcom and lecom ... What are the odds they accept a memo and therefore waive the reqiroembt of a 2 credit, split up lab for a 1 credit mixed lab ( chem 1 and 2)?

I dont think it matters. All my labs are technically 0 credits because they are incorporated into the lecture components.

It shouldn't take that long to complete one credit hour if you get accepted, right?

I have to go back and take Chem I & its lab. They have marked me as having all the required credits completed, however, they may not have noticed that my Chem I was earned as AP credit and so doesn't have a lab component. I am going to take the class this spring at a community college, just to be sure that something so irrelevant at this point doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.

I've heard of someone never finishing the second half of Organic Chemistry, and matriculating anyhow. He said that deep into his medical school experience he remained concerned that someone would notice and inflict unpleasant consequences on him.

I can do without that kind of stress. Taking a night course this spring is well worth the peace of mind.

Just want to note that AACOMAS do not classify philosophy courses as behavior science. However, LECOM explicitly accepts philosophy courses to fulfill its behavioral science requirement.

So the AACOMAS report sent to LECOM says I am missing 2 units of behavioral science. But the report doesn't take into account of my philosophy courses.
