Am I the only one who thinks this guy is a complete idiot?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Perhaps you could make the same argument for professional athletes receiving treatment for sports-related injuries.

On the other hand, I hear that David Blaine's stunts have provided valuable data for medical research testing the limits of the human body 👍

As long as he has health insurance (and im sure he does) thats their problem.

If magic caused his medical condition, I think the doctors should have used magic to try to treat it. Abracadabra!

Seriously, could we not put the medical resources lavished upon this fool to better use somewhere in the world?
It seems dumb to me but what he is doing is putting himself in danger for the sake of amusing us and himself. There is no shortage of other activities we do that put ourselves at risk.

Running a marathon and tackle football immediately come to mind. I dont know, I dont like the guy but whatever works for him. He is probably filthy rich.

Well, that research will certainly be helpful if I ever find myself suspended above the Thames river for 42 days without food or in a fish tank in front of Lincoln Center for a week.

What's VALUABLE is research that yields a vaccine for H5N1, or a cure for cancer...not how wrinkled David Blaine's hands were after a week underwater or exactly how MR he is going to be after 7 minutes of self-imposed oxygen deprivation...

David Blaine is my hero

He seriously needs to get a NEW hobby.

I wonder if anyone will actually insure him for life insurance?

Kinda like that movie "Along Came Polly" Except this guy TRIES to kill himself.
I dont know about life insurance (doubt he needs it since he likely has a boatload of $$$) but for health insurance I bet the sponsors take care of that.
