I am pretty much following the sample study plan listen in the forum, except for weekends cause i work doubles on those days.

And at the moment I am pretty much trying to memorize everything in the Kaplan Blue Book and Cliffs AP bio. But have yet to even look at sample questions.

My question is, how in depth does the DAT get into questioning. Does getting all the main facts and concepts work or much I keep doing what im doing and pretty much be able to re-write both books?

also, on another note. I used Kaplan for the MCAT and found the online resources very useful (scored a 32). But have been reading that it's not that good for DAT, can someone elaborate. and to answer why I didn't go through with medical school, cause im sure ill get responses on the score. When i shadowed 3 different family practitioners and 2 pediatricians, I hated the job and found it extremely boring with not enough hands on.

Hey, I think you are on the right track when it comes to memorizing Cliff's and Kaplan, Kaplan on it's own is not sufficient at all. I would put more emphasis on Cliff's, I think it covers everything well EXCEPT physiology, which is covered fairly well in Kaplan. I will give you a tip though to supplement your current study schedule, use datQvault! It's really useful and was the most accurate depiction of my actual score on the DAT. Do a test after you've read Cliff's and Kaplan so that way you know which area you are weak in, they split up each test into different sections (Genetics, taxonomy etc.) so you know what you need to work on. I would say there are often questions on the DAT which test you on very detailed and specific facts, mostly taxonomy related, which tend to throw people off. Other than that, most questions are straightforward. Hope this helps.

Use Alan's notes. Check out my breakdown on the URL below to see what I'm talking about.

thanks both of above posts, the datQvault is really helping and Alan's Notes are absolutely perfect. I was attempting to create my own but these just saved me so many hours of work!!!

Feel free to add your own notes to Alan's notes. It'll keep everything concise and it'll include your input as well 🙂 Good luck!
