I attended a junior college for about two years I failed a whole bunch of courses, usually the same ones multiple times(not science ones, more like speech etc..). After attending to my personal issues, I went back to the same junior college and retook most of my poor grades, all of the ones which pertain to science, and now I am at a university. Since I returned to my junior college I have been making 3.7's-4.0s most semesters. I have around 80 credit hours, 53 from junior college and the remainder with around a 3.8.. Assuming my ecs and mcat are fine will DO school still give me a chance, I imagine I can get out of my uni with a 3.8 but my cgpa will probably be a 3.4 with a science of around 3.6.

Thanks

If you finish with a 3.4 cGPA and 3.6 sGPA, with good ECs, you will need a 26+ mcat for DO and a 33+ mcat for MD. You are still in the game.

I'd imagine that your AACOMAS GPAs will be higher since they only include the most recent grade when you retake, provided the credit hours are the same or greater. Yes, even if you took a class three times, only the last grade "counts." Did you already account for this?

So, to answer your question, yes, you have a chance at DO med schools.

Not wasting your time at all. You are in great shape. If that's the GPA with the F's included, don't count yourself out of MD.

for the 3.6/3.4 gpa, you must be doing "grade replacement" correct? I can't imagine you failing numerous classes for two years and still walking away with a 3.6 collectively speaking. Either way, with these gpas you will def. be in the game for DO. Good luck

You are right, I already retook the courses I did poor in, so the 3.4/3.6 are what I will end up with when I graduate. Thanks for the advice!
