Anyone have experience with AMCAS academic change requests? They changed a course I desginated as Biology (taught in the Neurobiology department, it's biology...) to a BESS course, probably because it has behavior in the title. I called and they were surprisingly unhelpful. The guy was just like well write us a note in the academic change request box and we will change it if we want to....so I wrote a note and included the course description and pointed out that the course requires a year of intro biology.

I have taken few science courses, and I did well in this one - it makes a big difference for my GPA....anyone have experience with this? what kind of an argument are they looking for? how long will they likely take? if my application is already being sent to med schools do they resend it, or what happens? thanks!

If the one grade is really that important, send them a copy of the class syllabus. That way they can see all the course content and make the right judgment on how to classify it.

They're pretty fast at this point. Much after June, and you're looking at a longer turnaround time. Just make your justification and explain. AMCAS is concerned with course content more than the title, so if it contained a lot of Biology, then it should be reclassified. If it was more about psychology and behavior, then you may just be out of luck.
